[NEWS] – Take, JG8NQJ is again on Minami Torishma (as of November 14th) and will be active when time permits usually on CW and FT8. He is on work assignment until early-March 2025.
[SEPTEMBER 19] – After completing his latest assignment, Take JG8NQJ/JD1 will again be active from Minami Torishima starting mid-November and lasting for approx 3 months. QRV mainly on CW and some FT8 (spare time). QSL via JA8CJY, LoTW. (Previous recording below)

Hello, I contacted JG8NQJ/JD1 in May 2016 and I never heard back from the qsl and maybe the mail got lost? Do you know the email from his manager that I can write to him before sending the contribution to confirm that I am in his log? THANKS

Really need a big JA DXpedition to here and JD/O to meet the demand that is there, these single guys who only do part time operations are good but it can be very hard to work them from far away places like NW EU we never get a chance,

There was some FT8 activity reported on 5 and 6 November from JG8NQJ/JD1 … was that Slim-Take or really him, finally trying to give out some most needed digital contacts?
Of course there was an unbreakable JA wall, but if it really was him, then there is hope that one day it can be done! Again the question to any Japanese reader here to provide more insight information.

“MAYBE” one of our Japanese readers has any kind of contact to Take and might ask him about some digital activity from Minami next time.
I remember ONE activity from him on 17m a couple of years ago, while RTTY was the common digital mode. And since then, nada! (Of course I did not work him this day ☹)
I don’t know if he could be “convinced”, that FT8 operation would be a cure to this need, but you never know.
At least, while I had to realize that there will be no more new real RTTY entities for me, I was happy and lucky to work VK0MQ for a new one.
But that brings me to another subject, the ability to use FT8 the right way. WHY do many operators still stick to regular FT8 operation, while they have a good signal and could work much more station in Fox/Hound?
Start regular, then announce the F/H frequency, and someone will spot you and you have your pile-up going on …
