Press Release: V7 – Marshall Islands Amateur Radio DXpedition (February) 2025: Final Team Member, Preparation, and Logistics Update

We are thrilled to provide the latest updates on the V7 – Marshall Islands DXpedition, scheduled for February 2025. Along with sharing our preparation progress, we are excited to introduce the final member of our team.

  • Welcome, Yannick Hariga, DK1YH!

We are pleased to announce Yannick Hariga – DK1YH, from Mettmann, Germany, as the sixth and final operator joining our DXpedition team. Yannick, a 21-year-old radio enthusiast and the youngest member of our crew, is eager to contribute to the success of the DXPedition.
”It has always been my dream to take part in a DXpedition, and I feel very honored to have been invited to this project. I will serve my team in any way possible,” Yannick shared.

Furthermore, Yannick has already been an important part of the preparation process and will continue to assist on site. His addition marks an exciting step for the Next Generation DX Team, as we are thrilled to pass on our knowledge from previous DXpeditions to a younger operator. Yannick’s enthusiasm is infectious, and we are confident that his multi-mode operating skills in CW, SSB, FT8, and RTTY will be a great asset to our team.

We look forward to working closely with him and are excited to welcome this talented newcomer to our DXpedition family!

  • Preparation and Equipment Progress

Our team has made remarkable progress over the past weeks, investing countless hours into refining our setup. With the invaluable support of many fellow ham radio operators, we tested several antennas and the station layout. Their assistance has been crucial, and we are deeply grateful for their cooperation. The tests were a success, leaving us confident in the performance of our equipment for the DXpedition.

Check out some photos from the recent preparations in the gallery below! We are proud of the progress made so far and look forward to getting even closer to our goal of operating from the Marshall Islands.

  • Logistics and Location Update

All team flights have been confirmed, ensuring smooth travel arrangements. The team will meet up in Hawaii in early February before proceeding to their final destination on the Marshall Islands. The location has already been secured, and we’ve maintained excellent communication with the local landlord to ensure a seamless experience on site.

  • Team Meeting During OE1W Activity in Early November

Several team members, including DJ4MX, DK6SP, E77DX, and HA8RT, recently gathered at the OE1W station in Austrian mountains during the Marconi Memorial Contest on 2m. This meeting provided an excellent opportunity to discuss final equipment setup and address important logistical details for the upcoming DXpedition. The team’s preparations are on track, and everyone is in high spirits as we look forward to departing for the Marshall Islands soon. With solid planning and teamwork, we are confident in the success of this DXPedition.
